Overview

ClearHalf estimates caffeine and alcohol clearance using information stored on your device. The app is designed around local storage, explicit controls, and Apple device frameworks.

Information We Collect

How Data Is Stored

ClearHalf stores saved profile values, preferences, and caffeine or alcohol logs on your device by default. It uses an App Group container to share current forecast snapshots with iOS widgets, Live Activities, Dynamic Island, and the Apple Watch app.

Apple Watch and WatchConnectivity

When you use the Apple Watch app, ClearHalf syncs logs, profile values, and preferences between your iPhone and Apple Watch using Apple's WatchConnectivity framework. This keeps complications and widgets aligned across your own devices.

Apple Health

If you enable Apple Health sync, ClearHalf writes new caffeine logs to Apple Health. ClearHalf does not read data from Apple Health in this version. Alcohol Health writes are skipped in this version. ClearHalf asks Apple Health to delete caffeine samples it previously wrote when you delete matching ClearHalf logs. You can revoke Health permission at any time in iOS Settings.

Purchases

Premium purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. ClearHalf does not receive or store your payment card details.

Data Sharing

ClearHalf does not sell personal data. Data is shared only when you explicitly use iOS share actions, Apple Health sync, Apple Watch sync, widgets, Live Activities, or other Apple frameworks you enable on your devices.

Retention and Deletion

ClearHalf keeps your logs, profile values, preferences, and forecast snapshots locally until you delete them or uninstall the app. CSV export files are temporary local files created only when you request an export. ClearHalf removes the temporary file when you dismiss the export sheet.

Delete all data clears local logs, profile values, preferences, widget snapshots, Live Activities, and asks your paired Apple Watch to erase its mirrored copy. ClearHalf asks Apple Health to delete caffeine samples it previously wrote. Apple may retain subscription records, Health permissions, or other Apple-managed data under Apple's own policies and controls.

Children's Privacy

ClearHalf is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Safety Disclaimer

ClearHalf estimates are for informational use only and are not medical advice. Do not use ClearHalf as the sole basis for driving, medical, work, or safety-critical decisions.
